Just 20 minutes west of Ft. Lauderdale is the freshwater portion of the Everglades and is also where there is access to hundreds of miles canal systems to fish in the glades. Everyone knows largemouth bass are king in the Everglades but it is usually a mixed bag of characters you will catch on any given day. Whether you want to fly fish with streamers or popping bugs to conventional tackle throwing soft plastics and hard baits some of the fish we catch on any given day include: Bass, Peacock bass, bowfin, gar, pickerel, crappie, bluegill, sunfish, oscars, cichlids and more. The freshwater portion of the Everglades fishes best from November through June when the water levels are at their lowest. With the right water levels 100 plus fish days are not uncommon.
